Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic Education (PAI) in shaping students’ character in the digital era, which is marked by rapid technological development. The main problem addressed is how Islamic Education can effectively instill character values amid the negative influences of digital technology. The research method uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical method through literature review from various scientific sources over the past five years. The results indicate that Islamic Education plays a strategic role in character building through the internalization of Islamic values such as honesty, responsibility, discipline, and good morals. In addition, the integration of technology in Islamic Education enhances learning effectiveness, although it still faces challenges such as low digital literacy and negative social media influence. The study concludes that Islamic Education has great potential in shaping students’ character but requires innovation in teaching methods and supportive environments to be optimized.
